Each week TLC Core students will be asked to do a 1-3-minute presentation in front of their classmates. There are three objectives to this assignment:
1. To be comfortable speaking in front of others.
2. To learn to communicate properly within a timeframe.
3. To teach children to listen attentively.
The emphasis on public speaking will better prepare our children for speeches and debates involved in the Concepts programs. As confident speakers, the Concepts student will be able to focus his/her attention on the material in the debate or speech instead of on learning to give an excellent speech.
Presentations should be 1-3 minutes in length unless otherwise specified. Topics listed are only recommendations and parents are free to alter them. For the sake of simplicity, parents with multiple students may choose to have all of their children present the same information. Each week a delivery skill is highlighted. Daily practice equips students to present with skill and confidence.
